CM Punjab Directs BoP to Speed Up Asaan Karobar Scheme Loans

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has taken significant steps to boost entrepreneurship in the province. She has directed the Bank of Punjab (BoP) to speed up disbursements under the Asaan Karobar Scheme loans, which provides interest-free loans ranging from Rs 1 million to Rs 30 million to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The initiative includes two major components: Asaan Karobar Cards and Asaan Karobar Finance. The Asaan Karobar Card serves as a financial tool that enables easy access to funds to start a new business, while Asaan Karobar Finance ensures smooth and quick loan disbursement to eligible existing entrepreneurs, reducing bureaucratic hurdles.

This scheme is designed to simplify business startups by implementing a ‘Zero Time to Start’ policy, allowing entrepreneurs to begin operations without the immediate need for NOCs or licenses. Additionally, the government plans to allocate land in industrial zones to loan recipients and launch a free plot scheme during Ramadan, benefiting approximately 3.3 million families with the financial assistance of Rs 10,000 delivered directly to their homes. A laptop distribution program is also set to roll out post-Ramadan to further empower the youth.

At a special event, CM Maryam Nawaz personally distributed Asaan Karobar Cards and Asaan Karobar Finance Cheques to successful entrepreneurs, ensuring they receive the necessary financial support to kickstart their businesses. These measures reflect the Punjab government’s strong commitment to fostering economic growth and creating new opportunities for aspiring business owners.

The Bank of Punjab Asaan Karobar Scheme Loans is a government-backed initiative aimed at providing interest-free loans and financial support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Punjab, empowering entrepreneurs to start and expand their businesses with ease.
